You recognise the situation, your staff have limited time but are inundated with essential tasks. Topped up with admin that’s important but can, and does, take a lot of time; everyone is looking for ways to complete these activities as efficiently as possible.
With this in mind and the continuous need to do more with less, senior leaders have told us improving the efficiency of their school, and collaboration between their staff is high up on their agenda. We’ve listened and this term we’re launching the first two slices of SIMS Next Gen that are designed specifically for secondary schools to help address these priorities. Focused on helping teachers simplify key classroom tasks, giving them more time to teach and enabling efficient staff engagement. Take Register: Lesson Attendance and Staff Profile are just the beginning of the Next Gen innovation for secondary schools.
With Staff Profile, all users across your school can quickly search for staff and view non-sensitive information; such as roles and responsibilities, as well as who is absent or present today, so they can get in touch with colleague they need to work with without the need to involve your school personnel team. Meanwhile, Take Register: Lesson Attendance lets teachers capture and edit both statutory am and pm sessions and lesson attendance from any device, limiting the need for paperwork and simplifying reporting.
Both slices are being rolled out this term to secondary schools who are part of our early adoption programme. As part of this early access, those schools will have the opportunity to influence the direction of development by sharing their feedback.
And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
2023 will see the launch of even more SIMS Next Gen slices for secondary schools, which will be made available to our early adoption programme members before anyone else. Just one example of our upcoming innovations is our secondary assessment tool, which enables teachers to easily record results of their own assessments in their online workbook. So how can your school get access? Register your interest here to be part of our early adoption programme for not only Staff Profile and Take Register: Lesson Attendance, but new secondary slices as they become available.
Footnote: SIMS Next Gen is a continuous multi-year programme of customer-driven innovation, designed to add value to your existing investment in SIMS. It’s designed to make school life more efficient, by empowering you with the time, tools and insights to enhance learner outcomes.
