Any parent will tell you that keeping tabs on your child is not always an easy task. For teachers, monitoring students and keeping track of their progress is a similarly difficult job. The SIMS Teacher app lessens the burden.
With the SIMS Teacher app, entering assessment data is quick and easy. Efficiently enter formative and summative judgements into the National Curriculum Programme of Study and receive instant analysis on the same screen, helping you to monitor student performance. Quick access to this information helps teachers to focus on teaching and supports pupil progress.
The class is clearly displayed on screen. To reveal the assessment panel, simply swipe right. Using this panel, you can access marksheets or the National Curriculum Programme of Study.
Marksheets are a great way to record summative assessments, whilst the Programme of Study helps teachers assess against the knowledge, skills and understanding being taught in class.
With access to the entire National Curriculum, teachers simply choose a subject or strand area, and select the appropriate statement to assess against.
To use the Programme of Study:
- Click ‘Programme of Study’
- Choose options to search for statements – such as Year, Group, Term, Subject, and Strand
- Click ‘Search’.
A dedicated view lets teachers efficiently record judgements for a pupil against the curriculum being taught and shows an individual’s progress towards expectations, live as assessment data is being entered. It’s easy to shift the focus from one statement to another by tapping ‘next’ or ‘previous’. You will be promoted to save your data as you go.
Summative judgements can also be recorded to indicate which phase of the curriculum a pupil is working within. Again, as you are entering data, analysis is being presented on the left-hand side.
Furthermore, teachers can easily add comments to highlight pupils’ strengths and next steps for achievement. To save time, comments can be recorded by speaking into the device by tapping the microphone button.
Quick and easy access to SIMS Assessment through the SIMS Teacher app let teachers focus on learning, make timely interventions and support pupil progress.
